It’s hard to believe that one month ago Quest landed in Hong Kong! Time flies when your changing lives! We’ve made some incredible journeys, have had impossible challenges, and created new, heart felt friendships! During Quests final week in Hong Kong, the Wings Company performed “Alice”. 6 ACTORS, 3 DAYS, 4 SHOWS, 1 FULL HOUSE PER SHOW! (Roz)
This was one of Quest’s best tours ever! Thanks ADAHK. Thanks State Department (Tim McCarty)
This was the most fabulous tour I ever experience! Now I have a great love from Hong Kong! OMG! I can’t believe it over. (Mervin Primeaux)
Such a lovely team in the booth running the show (and, of course, TIm as follow-spot operator extraordinare!) – and so nice to see the show grow once again. And what extraordinary hosts – the graciousness and the warmth. Such a diverse set of faces in the audience – some deaf, some hearing, some young, others old, a group from Malaysia, a group of teens, dignitaries, and many many more…I think what will stick with me the longest will be the faces and animated gestures of some of the children in the audience, during both the show and the post-show discussion! (Sabrina Hamilton)
A defining moment of this trip for me came after our Saturday evening show. During our bows, I noticed a man in the front row applauding, as many of our audience members do, with deaf applause. I met Alan afterwards, and it turns out he is traveling through Hong Kong on holiday. He had met our friend Jenny (a Hong Kong resident and Gallaudet graduate) and she invited him to our performance. Talking with Alan after the show left an imprint on me twofold: One, we traveled all the way around the world and encountered a new friend, from the United States, AND praises be, he found his way to our show! Secondly, being a part of deaf culture has been a new experience for me, and my apprehension in both communicating and understanding ASL was utterly shattered as I realized I was capable of holding my own in a conversation, and, hopefully, welcoming a new friend to the Quest community. Thank you to everyone who made this trip possible! [Noreen Hughes]
We meet new people, have new experiences, and feel things fully – and for that our lives get changed. Tremendous. [Steven DeWater]
That’s all folks! See you in the mainland!!! (Roz)
